Ask us anything before you book

Every question people actually ask, answered in one place — so you can decide without picking up the phone. If yours isn't here, text us and we'll answer it, then add it.

The basics

Booking, payment, and what to expect

Do I need to be home when you come?
Not for exterior work. We'll text when we're on the way and again when we're done. Interior cleaning obviously needs someone to let us in, and we'll coordinate a time that works.
How do I pay?
After the visit, not before. Card, check, or Venmo. We don't ask for deposits or prepayment on residential work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes to both. If you'd like to see the certificate of insurance before we set foot on your property, ask and we'll send it over.
What happens if it rains or the wind picks up?
We reschedule. Freezing temperatures, high wind, and rain all make for bad window cleaning, and we'd rather move the visit than do work you won't be happy with. Rescheduling is free and there's no penalty.
Do I need to move anything or prepare the house?
Very little. Unlock the gate, let us know about pets, and if you can, leave the sprinklers off the morning of service. That's it. We handle the rest and wear booties indoors.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
Tell us before we leave, or call the same day. We'll come back and fix it. Joe and Celly own this company and live in the same county you do — a bad job follows them around.
Do you have a contract or a subscription I'm locked into?
No. The twice-a-year and quarterly plans are just a discount for booking recurring visits. Either side can stop at any time, with no fee and no penalty. We don't re-bill past visits.
Can you do more than one service on the same visit?
Yes, and it saves you a trip charge. Windows and gutters together is the most common combination. Ask when you book.
Who actually shows up at my house?
A trained Bigfoot crew member. Joe built the company doing the work himself and now trains the crew rather than climbing, but the standard hasn't moved: the high, awkward glass gets the same care as the pane by your front door.
How far in advance should I book?
For regular window or gutter cleaning, usually a few days. Christmas lights are the exception — those book out in October and early November, and the good weekends go first.
Money

What it costs

Why do you publish your prices?
Because you'd rather know. Most companies in this trade make you book a visit before they'll say a number, and that wastes everyone's time. If our price works for you, call us. If it doesn't, no hard feelings.
How do I know how many panes I have?
You don't have to. Give us a rough idea of your home's size and we'll confirm the count before we start — the price we quote is the price you pay.
What's the difference between the plans?
Same work every visit. The twice-a-year plan takes $50 off each visit and the quarterly plan takes $100 off each visit, because a maintained home is faster to clean than one we see once every three years.
What about hard water stains?
Hard water stain removal is quoted separately — we test a patch on your glass first. Mineral spotting that's already bonded to glass needs a restoration process, not a regular cleaning. We'll look, tell you honestly whether it can come off, and quote it separately.
Is there a travel charge for my city?
No. We're based in Syracuse and every city we list is covered at the same published price. If you're just outside the area, ask — if we can get there, we will.

Window Cleaning

How often should I clean my windows in Utah?
Twice a year works for most Davis County homes — spring after the pollen and winter grime, and fall before the holidays. If your sprinklers hit the glass or you're on a dusty road, quarterly keeps the mineral spotting from building up.
Do you clean the inside too?
Yes. Interior cleaning is an add-on, priced by home size. Most people do inside once a year and outside more often, since the outside takes the weather.
What about hard water spots?
Utah water is hard — Davis County runs roughly 10 to 18 grains per gallon. Routine cleaning prevents mineral buildup. If spots have already bonded to the glass, that's a separate restoration job and we'll quote it honestly before touching it.
Do I need to be home?
Not for exterior work. We'll text when we're on the way and when we're done.

Gutter Cleaning

When should gutters be cleaned in Davis County?
Late fall, after the leaves are down and before the first hard freeze — usually late October into November. If you have a lot of overhang, a spring visit helps too.
Do you haul the debris away?
Yes. It goes in bags and leaves with us. We don't blow it into your flower beds.
Can you do gutters and windows the same visit?
That's the most common combo, and it saves you a trip charge. Ask when you book.

Post-Construction Cleaning

Do you work with builders directly?
Yes. If you're a builder or agent with a closing date, call us — we'll work around your punch list.
How is this priced?
Post-construction is quoted per job, since every build leaves a different mess. We'll walk it and give you a flat number.

Christmas Light Installation

When should I book Christmas light installation?
September. Installation schedules for the whole season fill up before Halloween, and the best dates go first. Booking early also locks your pricing.
Do I own the lights?
We use commercial-grade lights cut to fit your home. Ask us about purchase versus lease — for most homes, leasing with storage included is simpler.
What if a strand goes out?
Text us and we'll come fix it. Maintenance during the season is part of the deal.

Handyman Services

What kind of jobs do you take?
Small stuff, mostly — the things that need a person and a truck, not a contractor and a permit. Text us the list and we'll tell you straight if it's in our lane.
How is it priced?
Hourly, with an honest estimate before we start.

Hard Water Removal

Can hard water spots always be removed?
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing or selling. Fresh mineral deposits wipe off. Deposits that have bonded to the glass usually come off with restoration. But minerals left on glass long enough — often years, accelerated by sun and heat — can etch into the surface itself, and etched glass cannot be restored by any process. Replacement is the only fix at that point. We find out which one you have before you spend anything.
How do you know before I pay?
We restore a small test area on an actual affected pane, then have you look at it. If the glass comes back, you'll see it immediately and we'll quote the rest. If it doesn't, you know the glass is etched, and you've paid nothing to find out.
Why isn't this on your price sheet?
Because it isn't comparable between homes the way window cleaning is. Two houses the same size can have completely different amounts of buildup depending on where the sprinklers point and how long it's been. Our regular cleaning prices are published because homes are comparable by size. This one gets quoted after we've actually looked.
What causes it in the first place?
Almost always sprinklers, not rain. Rain is naturally soft. Your irrigation water is the same hard tap water as the rest of the house — the Weber Basin district that supplies most of Davis County reports roughly 10 to 18 grains per gallon. Every time overspray hits a window and dries in the sun, the water leaves and the minerals stay.
Will restoration damage or scratch my windows?
Not when the method is matched to the glass, which is the reason this is a separate service rather than a harder scrub during a normal visit. Tempered glass is more prone to scratching than most people expect, so it's treated differently, and that's part of what the test patch confirms.
How do I keep it from coming back?
Point the sprinkler heads away from the house — walk your zones once each spring and watch where the spray actually lands. After that, frequency does the rest: fresh deposits come off in a normal cleaning, so staying on a quarterly or twice-a-year rhythm means they never get the chance to bond.
